Most of the people think that if they just uninstall WhatsApp, they have been removed from WhatsApp. But this isn’t true. You will still appear on your friend’s and other contact person’s WhatsApp as like you still are active on WhatsApp. So, they will keep message you and get angry for no reason.

So, the appropriate way to deactivate your WhatsApp account is to delete your WhatsApp account. To do this navigate to Settings » Account » Delete my account. Here enter your phone number and tap DELETE MY ACCOUNT. This will permanently remove your presence from WhatsApp.
