So, the above trick was to minimize your distraction by putting both your desktop work and WhatsApp chatting on one single device. However that can be comparatively greater distraction to feature WhatsApp chatting on desktop than to just allow viewing WhatsApp notifications which, if important, you can open WhatsApp Web or smartphone to reply.
So, if you want to minimize distraction to even this level then install Desktop Notifications in your smart phone and its corresponding Chrome or FireFox browser extension. Connect them with provided code and set which apps’ notifications to be sent to desktop. That’s it.
